The Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018 (“Evidence Act”) requires that agency Evaluation Officers coordinate the development of an Annual Evaluation Plan that is published concurrently with the agency's Annual Performance Plan. The Annual Evaluation Plan describes “significant” evaluations and related information for the subsequent fiscal year. Significant evaluations meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Fundamental to the Department of Commerce Mission
- Align with leadership priorities
- Have the potential to create a major advance in benefits from an investment, efficiency, and/or customer experience
- Support economic recovery and/or resilience
- Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
All evaluations presented in this draft FY 25 plan are supported by funding in the FY 25 President’s Budget. Revisions in the plan may be made when final appropriations levels are established.
